2019 Cannondale SystemSix Hi-MOD Ultegra Di2 Mens Road Bike - Grey

Season:2019

Brand:Cannondale

Code:C11209MBlkYel

The all-new SystemSix was created with one simple goal in mind – to be the fastest and most efficient UCI-legal road bike in the world. Its unique fully integrated design delivers more speed, in more situations, than any other bike on the market today. For race day fast and everyday fast, it's the world's fastest bike.

Rider Position/Bike Geometry: A flat back for flat out speed. Cannondale's Road Race Geometry delivers a responsive and nimble ride in all handlebar positions to perfectly set you up for the win.

IT TAKES A SYSTEM.

The SystemSix truly takes a unique approach to aerodynamic optimised bike design. Cannondale's holistic approach to speed represents the pinnacle of what a race bike designed from the ground up can really deliver. The entire SystemSix project began with a quest to design the fastest wheel possible for modern tyre volumes. Cannondale built from there, developing the frame, fork, seatpost, bars, stem and wheels together as a complete speed system, taking full advantage of disc-only optimisation. Frame tube profiles were tailored to control airflow at every point. A bar/stem combo was developed that delivers speed without forgoing the fit, yielding the most positive wind tunnel data ever seen, all within UCI limits.

THE FOUNDATION OF FAST.

The SystemSix frame and fork are the rock upon which speed is built. Every tube shape is engineered to be as immune to drag as possible. Purposeful asymmetry has been applied for instant response to disc brake and pedalling loads. The geometry derived from Cannondale's gold standard EVO delivers impeccable handling and a classic road race feel. Scores of refined details are designed to speed you up and not let you down.

OPTIMISED AGAINST EVERY ASPECT OF DRAG.

Foiling Drag. Every section of the frame and fork feature tailored airfoil profiles, with differing degrees of truncation designed to maintain flow attachment across important yaw angles and mininise drag.

The Chine. The unique chine shape at the base of the headtube redirects air flow coming up the back of the fork leg, channeling it downstream. This prevents the fork's airflow from mixing with the wake of the head tube and interrupting clean air over the fork crown.

Sleek as Fork. Freed from the constraints of rim brakes, the fork crown area is radically different from traditional road bikes. The fork has been sleekly integrated with the frame for minimal drag. A larger opening has been adapted for bigger tyres and cleaner airflow whilst asymmetric legs have been applied for handling disc brake loads.

Bigger Meet Better. The first component of the SystemSix design, the new KNOT64 wheels are an engineering feat all in themselves. Designed to eliminate the drag penalty normally associated with running bigger tyres, the KNOT64s manage to pack all the comfort, rolling resistance and grip benefits of larger volume tyres into one of the absolute fastest wheelsets on the planet. The disc-only design is significantly wider than other road wheels and that extra width makes both smaller tyres bigger (a 23c tyre measures a full 26mm on our wheel) and helps air flowing over the larger tyre reattach cleanly to the rim, maximising flow attachment and minimising drag. While they're optimised for 23mm (23c) tyres, the KNOT64 design exhibits minimal changes in drag with even larger tyres, giving riders the option to go bigger without slowing down. It's pure speed without compromise.

System of Control. The KNOT SystemBar is a slick piece of speed wizardry, providing the low drag and sleek look of a one-piece bar and stem, with the customisable adjustability of a two-piece system. The carbon bar features a full 8 degree of pitch adjust, so you can dial in your perfect position. The rounded truncated airfoil shape of the flat section not only maintains consistent airflow throughout the pitch range, it's also way comfier on your hands than the sharp trailing edge of other aero bars.

In addition to giving the bars a place to perch; the mating System Stem routes brake and Di2 lines cleanly into the headtube via a channel underneath a mechanic-friendly removable cover. Shape-matched gated spacers allow you to easily adjust the stem's stack height, without having to disconnect cables. Fast and easy, just how you like it.

The Most Post. It's a common misconception that seatposts are insignificant to performance. In actuality, the airflow in this region is significantly faster than the clean air at the front of the bike, due to the flow accelerating between the rider's legs. The truncated airfoil shape of the SystemSix post is a big part of the world's fastest speed result.

Faster Up. The SystemSix's aerodynamic advantage make it faster than lightweight climbing bikes on any climb up to a 6% gradient or more, depending on rider's power to weight. Most revered HC climbs in the Tour only average 7-8%.

Faster Down. Descending a 5% grade at 60kph, a rider on a modern lightweight race bike would need to expend over 300W to match a rider pedalling at a 200W recovery pace on a SystemSix. So, SystemSix riders can truly recover while going faster.

Faster on the Flats. Compared to a modern lightweight race bike, at 48kph (30mph), SystemSix saves you over 50W - huge savings considering an average Cat 1 racer's Functional Threshold Power is around 350W. Even when drafting, you'll still get up to 60% of that benefit, even if you're not up on watts. That's more than enough to notice.

Faster in the Sprint. In a 200m sprint at 60kph, all other things being equal, SystemSix will beat a modern lightweight race bike to the line by four full bike lengths.

Every Day Faster. Even at an easy 30kph (18mph) group ride pace, SystemSix requires about 10% less power to maintain speed, leaving you with more in the tank when it's time to throw down.
