The light weight frame has been constructed from a FACT 9r carbon fibre. Its stiffness levels are also off the charts, and compared to the previous SL4, you'll experience a whole new, faster, and more efficient geometry. Through some sophisticated engineering, however, the same fit, feel, and position that we've all come to love from the SL4 has been maintained, and it has been kept consistent throughout the size-range with a Rider-First Engineered™ construction.
The Future Shock suspension is, essentially, a piston in the head tube with 20mm of travel. This technology was developed in partnership with McLaren Applied Technologies, and the result of this are a host of drastic performance improvements, namely in the vertical compliance department. Focusing on vertical compliance, instead of fork splay, meant smoothness, speed, and comfort coule be improved in one fell swoop. Of all the bikes tested with the Rolling Efficiency Model, the Roubaix outperforms anything on the market.
Lastly, it is spec'd with 105 11-speed mechanical shifting, powerful hydraulic disc brakes, and DT R470 Disc wheels that have been cased in Turbo Pro 28mm tyres.
