With an impressive seven victories at Paris-Roubaix, the Specialized Roubaix Road Bike has long championed the mantra that "Smoother is Faster." Yet, until now, achieving smoothness has often entailed compromises. Enter the all-new Roubaix Expert, a bike that redefines compliance without concession. Featuring the groundbreaking Future Shock 2.0, this radical innovation offers enhanced control and damping options, while the new Pavé seatpost ensures the most balanced Roubaix to date. With aerodynamics rivaling the Tarmac and a Rider-First Engineered™ frame that has shed significant weight, this is not merely a comfort bike, it's a performance powerhouse, driven by every engineering decision Specialized have made. This is the new Roubaix.
For the build, Specialized have equipped the Expert with Shimano Ultegra Di2 for its powerful hydraulic disc brakes and super crisp 12-speed shifting. Rolling on sturdy wheels courtesy of a Roval C38 wheelset ensures a smooth and reliable ride experience.
The redesigned frame delivers compliance without compromise, striking the perfect balance between aerodynamics, lightweight construction, and Rider-First Engineering. Born from the FreeFoil Shape Library and validated in the Win Tunnel, the new Roubaix boasts superior aerodynamics compared to the Tarmac SL6. With a focus on optimal stiffness and compliance across all sizes, the Rider-First Engineered™ design guarantees an exceptional ride quality for every rider. Additionally, the frame has shed significant weight while accommodating up to 33mm tyres for tackling any terrain.
Accompanying the new frame is the innovative S-Works Pavé seatpost, the first compliant and aerodynamic seatpost of its kind. Designed with a D-shape construction for enhanced compliance and a new drop-clamp design for perfect balance with the front-end, it ensures a smooth and balanced ride, regardless of road conditions.
The Future Shock 2.0, born from the demands of Specialized pro riders for the cobbles of Roubaix, offers smoother, faster performance and increased control with a knob atop the stem. This knob adjusts compression from fully-open to stiff, while hydraulically-damped internals control rebound, reducing fatigue and increasing speed on any terrain. The new Smooth Boot, top cap, and Future Stem enhance the aesthetic, ensuring a clean transition from head tube to stem.
