Designed for high-speed MTB performance, the Dissident 2 uses a 3-layer construction combining a carbon shell, polycarbonate and EPS foam. Five uniquely placed EPS foam inserts are tuned for specific areas of the helmet, helping manage impact energy while keeping weight low. Softer foam densities are used where needed to absorb more energy during impacts, supporting rider confidence on technical descents and race tracks.
For advanced protection, the Mips Evolve Solution helps redirect rotational movement away from the head in certain impacts. Fabric pocket attachments inside the helmet help reduce creakiness and unwanted movement, improving comfort and feel while riding hard.
Ventilation is carefully engineered for real-world downhill and enduro riding. Instead of simply adding more vents, Specialized has optimised the airflow system with a hood scoop to channel cool air in, while purpose-placed exhaust vents help direct warm air out. This helps keep your head cooler and more comfortable during race runs, uplift days and demanding trail sessions.
The Ionic Plus anti-microbial pad kit helps maintain freshness, while the helmet includes a replacement crown pad and two sizes of emergency quick-release cheek pads for fit and safety support.
