2017 Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Center-Lock Disc Wheel Pair

The Cosmic Pro Carbon has been a favorite with racers for over two decades. And with the growing popularity of disc brakes on road bikes, we’ve taken this opportunity to create a new disc version. 45mm deep, 25mm wide and at only 1770g, the Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc is the perfect balance of lightweight, stiffness and aerodynamics. It’s built on the same qualities that made our Cosmic Pro Carbon so successful. The carbon/alloy hybrid rims provide the best of both materials: carbon for its stiffness, lightweight and ability to be aerodynamically shaped, and alloy for its simplicity and durability. But it's more than just adding disc brake compatibility to the hubs. Fully optimized rimsThe rim shape has been specifically designed for the use of disc brakes, getting rid of the brake track to make full use of the carbon’s characteristics. It is now laced with 24 spokes front and rear, with our new patented aerodynamic spokes on our new fast engagement, light Instant Drive 360 hub system. These hubs bring extra versatility to accommodate all the different axle dimensions on the market: - Front comes ready for 12mm thru axle, but can be converted to regular quick release or 15mm thru axle with optional adapters - Rear comes in 12x142 and is convertible to quick release with optional adapters too.- The freewheel is also versatile. Available for Shimano or Sram cassettes, it can be converted to Campy or Sram XD cassettes. Disc compatibility is 6 bolts (international standard) or Center Lock (R). Tires to matchThis high-end Wheel-Tire System would not be complete without the perfect set of tires. The 25mm front Yksion Pro Griplink tire is super safe thanks to a strong Kevlar puncture breaker and a carefully designed tread pattern that evacuates water when cornering to help you ride with confidence. And the rear Yksion Pro Powerlink tire is all about rolling efficiency thanks to a smooth 127 TPI casing and a tread pattern that’s designed to release pressure on the ground and evacuate water to keep good grip even in the worst conditions.
