The trail version of the Maxxis Minion DHR II features the same tread pattern as its downhill counterpart, but uses a single-ply casing to reduce weight. With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. Redesigned, wider shoulder knobs for better cornering, Paddle-like centre knobs for improved braking, ramped and siped tread to roll fast and track straight under braking.

Wide Trail (WT) Casing is optimised for 35mm inner width rims
WIDE TRAIL (WT)
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35mm inner rim width, but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider’s preference.
EXO
An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of selected mountain tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.
3C TRIPLE COMPOUND MOUNTAIN
Maxxis 3C Triple Compound mountain technology uses a harder, longer lasting base layer and two progressively softer top layers in order to optimize traction and stability. Maxxis offers three different configurations of their 3C Triple Compound mountain technology: Maxx Speed, Maxx Terra and Maxx Grip.
3C MAXX TERRA
An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tyres. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than Maxx Grip.
FOLDABLE BEAD
Foldable beads also keep the tyre secured to the rim but are lighter weight and easily transported. The bead is made of spun aramid or Kevlar® fibres.
TUBLESS READY
Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits, including the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction, lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre, and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty.
Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tyres: Tubeless Road, Tubular, and Tubeless Ready. The use of liquid sealants in any other Maxxis tyre will void the warranty.
