The step-through frame design makes it easy to get on and off, and Bosch's Active Plus drive unit and 500Wh battery gives a smooth, quiet and completely hassle-free boost to your pedalling. A comfortable seat and handlebar mean you'll love riding it, while low-maintenance internal hub gears ensure that hills and traffic are a breeze, and full-length mudguards were included to help keep you drier and more comfortable, even when the weather isn't cooperating. Speaking of which, powerful all-weather disc brakes mean you've no worries about stopping, even when it's wet. You can fit a rack front or rear (or even both) for carrying all your stuff, and wide 2.4in tyres offer lots of reassuring grip and comfort, even on poorly maintained city streets. Building the Compact Hybrid one-size-fits-all urban hybrid for the 21st century, demanded a completely new approach. To design a compact, durable, easy-to-ride and versatile bike that would slot easily into a busy lifestyle, Cube began by building a compact frame around 20in wheels. The simple, cross-braced down tube is elegant, stiff and strong. It also makes the Compact Hybrid easy to step in and out of, as well as providing a convenient carry handle. The long head tube ensures accurate steering, whilst the smooth and powerful Bosch drive unit lives neatly in a custom housing at the bottom of the frame, and located the battery behind the seat tube, close to the bike's centre of gravity and out of the way of both luggage and the rider. Quick saddle and handlebar adjustments allow one bike to fit a wide range of riders, too. It might not usher in a revolution in urban transport, but it may be part of the solution.
