The SM-RT86 features a three-layer stainless steel and aluminium sandwich construction, with an aluminium core bonded between two stainless steel outer layers. This advanced Ice Tech rotor design efficiently dissipates heat generated during braking, reducing rotor surface temperatures by up to 50°C. When paired with Shimano Ice Tech brake pads, temperatures can drop from approximately 400°C to 300°C, significantly improving brake modulation, power and consistency.
