The spec level on the SB5+ Carbon Shimano XT/SLX is all about gear ratio and harnessing traction and stability, whilst optimising playfulness. Fox Performance suspension with 150mm in the front and Transfer seat post make this bike agile and maneuverable when you need it most. Maxxis Rekon 2.8 tyres round out this traction focused build. The SB5+ is built on a 27.5+ platform which can accommodate tyres up to 3.0. This is a plus-sized dedicated bike that takes on loose gravel and varied trail conditions with ease.

There are no flip-chips here to change the bike’s geometry, no multiple wheel sizes, nothing to alter our suspension kinematics. We discovered that the slight changes in tire diameter had a dramatic impact on critical frame properties such as bottom bracket height and mechanical trail. Not wanting to sacrifice any defining ride characteristics by adopting the wheels to fit an existing platform, the SB5+ was born into its own identity in our line.
FOR 2018, IN COLLABORATION WITH FOX, THEY REFINED THE SHOCK AIR VOLUME CONFIGURATION AND TUNE.
The new Float DPS has an integrated EVOL sleeve which reduces weight while maintaining good off-the-top sensitivity. For 2018 the new piston and shim options allow for a wider range of tuning adjustments that we leveraged to refine the suspension properties of the SB5 Plus.
